Anthony Morrone, chair of the Midwest Region of Cozen O'Connor's Subrogation & Recovery Department, will discuss the investigation of fire scenes at the 2015 GKCCA Luncheon.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration was created to ensure that all workplaces are made as safe as they can be. Fire scene investigators can be exposed to hazards as they comb through a scene and debris following a fire. Often times, there is no way to identify those hazards before they are confronted with them. OSHA has recognized the unusual nature of this activity and focuses on training as a key element of complying with its regulations. This presentation will discuss the various requirements of OSHA and how they affect the way scenes are processed.
