Alex concentrates his practice on securities and capital markets matters. He represents companies and investment banks in public offerings, private placements, stock exchange listings, M&A transactions, and proxy and corporate governance matters. His practice covers a number of industries, including technology, health care and life sciences, crypto and blockchain, as well as food and beverage, among others.
Alex acts for his clients in cross-border capital market financings, assisting businesses with accessing Canadian and U.S. capital market opportunities, including listing on the Nasdaq, NYSE, TSX, TSXV, Cboe, and CSE. Leading companies seek out Alex for his meaningful advice on securities law matters, including - among other things - continuous disclosure requirements. He also counsels businesses on general commercial and corporate law matters, including drafting and negotiating commercial agreements and establishing business structures.
Prior to joining the firm, Alex practiced at a full-service business law firm in Toronto. He earned his LL.B, with honors, from the University of Buckingham, his B.A. in public administration and justice studies from York University, and a certificate for advanced negotiation skills from the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution.
