Jonathan Ciriello and Wendy Klein Keane will present courses at the American Bar Association Forum on Construction Law 2023 Construction Law Foundations. This program will cover the essential technical and legal underpinnings of construction. Wendy Klein Keane is the local outreach liaison for this program.

 

Jonathan will present “Dispute Resolution, Remedies for Nonpayment, and Statutes Impacting Construction.” He will discuss the different forms of dispute resolution, an overview of the parties’ legal remedies when not paid, and a series of statutes that relate to construction projects and contracting.

 

Jonathan will also present “Masonry.” He will discuss claims and disputes related to masonry and the risks of failure or degradation for structural purposes, which can result in significant exposure to legal liability.

 

Wendy will present “Construction Insurance and Bonding.” She will discuss the typical insurance policies encountered on construction projects and how to plan and evaluate such policies throughout the life of a project. Wendy will also cover the use of bonds on construction projects and common bonds found on projects.  

 

Wendy will also present “Exterior Wall Systems.” She will address the material characteristics, design, and construction principles for exterior wall systems assembly, focusing on those that impact performance and common problems that occur when these principles are violated.
