Michael Miller, chair of the firm's Life Insurance & Annuities Practice, will sit on a panel titled, “Epigenetics in Underwriting – Cutting-edge Developments and Issues” at the The Association of Life Insurance Counsel 2018 Annual Meeting. ALIC is the premier association for life insurance counsel and works to enhance the legal representation of the life insurance industry by fostering community and scholarship among its members. Mike will discuss how technology and science are causing transformational shifts in virtually all sectors of society – even in the seemingly otherwise unchanging context of life insurance underwriting. This panel will explain the basics of Epigenetics and will explore how Epigenetics is affecting society. In addition to a small dose of science and statistics, participants will hear about many of the practical and legal implications of employing – and not employing – Epigenetics in the context of life insurance underwriting.
